A ONCE IN A LIFETIME SCOTTISH ADVENTURE
You will be staying in Inverie which is the main village on the remote peninsula of Knoydart, home to approx 110 residents. You will all have your own bedroom in an historic house, perfectly situated on the shores of Loch Nevis - which is Gaelic for Heaven. And heaven it is. You could lose yourself for hours just looking out of your bedroom window across the loch!
Your stay is fully catered by Janey de Nordwall (founder of The Knoydart Retreat Ltd) who has prepared a wonderful home-cooked seasonal menu, for all dietary requirements, utilising the delicious local produce – especially wild venison for the meat eaters! Daily full-cooked breakfasts, packed lunches or hot soups for your outdoor adventures, baked afternoon teas and a two-course dinner each evening. Everyone dines together around the large table in the dining room and, after dinner, you can all relax around the open fire in the sitting room. We’ll also be taking you down to The Old Forge (Britain's more remote pub!) for a locally brewed pint and where the residents often play impromptu Celtic sessions.
PHOTOGRAPHING THE ULTIMATE WILDERNESS
Known as Britain’s last great wilderness, the Knoydart peninsula offers a landscape like no other. The Knoydart Photography Retreat has been given exclusive permission to access un-touched landscapes
Below is a selection of recent photographs taken by Julian Calverley in Knoydart.
